How the blast radius is calculated

This nuclear blast simulator estimates each damage-zone radius from publicly available scaling laws in The Effects of Nuclear Weapons (Glasstone & Dolan, 1977). Overpressure follows the cube-root scaling law; thermal and fireball radii follow their respective power laws. Real effects vary enormously with weapon design, height of burst, weather, and terrain — treat these blast-radius figures as order-of-magnitude estimates. Casualty counts are intentionally not shown.

How far does a nuclear blast reach?
